Terms of use
Last updated:
These terms apply to the Lexibo app for iPhone and Android, provided by , , , Germany (“we”). By creating an account, you agree to them.
1. What Lexibo does
Lexibo helps you learn German words. You can scan text, see translations, save words and train them with flash cards and Listen mode. We keep improving the app, so features may change over time.
2. Your account
You sign in with Google or Apple. Keep access to that account safe: whatever happens in Lexibo while you’re signed in counts as done by you. You must be at least 16 years old, or have a parent’s permission.
3. Free and Pro
Lexibo is free to use with limits, currently 15 translations a day and 50 saved words. Lexibo Pro removes these limits and unlocks Listen mode and tricky-word drills.
- Pro is sold as a subscription through the App Store or Google Play. Their terms apply to payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds.
- The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
- If you start a free trial, it turns into a paid subscription when it ends, unless you cancel before.
- Prices are shown in the app before you buy. We may change the limits of the free plan; we’ll say so in the app.
4. Translations
Translations and pronunciation are made automatically by machine translation and text-to-speech. They’re usually helpful but can be wrong or miss context. Don’t rely on them for legal, medical or other important decisions.
5. Your content
The texts you scan and the words you save stay yours. You give us only the rights we need to run the app, for example to store your words and sync them between your devices. Only scan texts you’re allowed to use, such as your own course book for your personal study.
6. Fair use
Please don’t misuse Lexibo. In particular, don’t:
- use automated scripts or bots, or make requests in bulk
- try to get around the plan limits or the security of the app
- resell access to the app or its translations
To keep Lexibo working for everyone, the app has hourly limits on requests. We may suspend accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these rules.
7. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app’s settings. Deleting the account doesn’t cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play; cancel it there. We may close the service with reasonable notice; if you have a paid subscription, you’ll get a pro rata refund for the time left.
8. Liability
We’re fully liable for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act. For slight negligence, we’re only liable if we breach an obligation that is essential for using the app, and only for damage that was typical and foreseeable. Otherwise our liability is excluded.
9. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we’ll tell you in the app before the changes apply. If you don’t agree, you can delete your account.
10. Law
German law applies. If you’re a consumer living in another EU country, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of that country.
